What

Mini sessions are shortened versions of our signature full family sessions. They are only available on select days of the year, and there are limited time slots.

Mini sessions are 20 minutes long, and your session fee of $275 allows you to select 5 beautifully hand-edited images from your final gallery for download. You will also have the ability to upgrade to purchase all of the images from your gallery, and to purchase custom designed holiday cards, prints, and wall art after our session as well.

Your session fee is due at the time of booking and is non-refundable. If you have a family emergency or illness and cannot make your selected date and time, every effort will be made to reschedule based on photographer availability.

Who

Mini sessions are great for everyone! New and returning clients alike love these abbreviated sessions.

Some families might opt for a full family session instead of a mini session. As the time for our session is short, if it's been a while since you took family photos, if you are parents with large extended families, shy or hesitant little ones, or those hoping for a large and full gallery, a full session might be better for you. If you are unsure about what is right for your family, reach out and we can discuss!

SUN, October 2: Stevensville, MD (back to the beach! Classic Eastern Shore)

SUN, October 16: Washington, DC (beautiful architecture, traditional DC feel)

SUN, October 30: Baltimore, MD (indoor garden conservatory)

There are five morning/earlier time slots, and five evening/late afternoon time slots for each day (NOTE: Baltimore sessions are only between 1-4 pm), based on the best light of the day. Once the spots are gone, they're gone. These dates WILL sell out, book early to get your preferred date and time!

Covid-19 Precautions

Due to the Covid-19 virus there will be additional precautions taken during our mini session to preserve your family’s health and safety. They include:

If state or county mandates require shutting down photography businesses for the date of the session, or otherwise prohibit the session from happening, all session and upgrade fees will be 100% refunded.
Photographer and assistant are fully vaccinated and boosted.
Strict adherence to session time limits, to reduce client overlap and interaction.
If there is any sickness in your family you will be asked to reschedule, with no penalties.

Quick Q&A:

Q: What if it rains? A: I can’t control Mother Nature, despite my best efforts! Two of this years locations are either indoors or covered, so we will be all set! If it rains on the date of the Eastern Shore sessions we will reschedule individually as needed, and find an alternate date and possibly location.

Q: I have to pay for the whole session fee up front? A: Yup. This ensures that you won't decide on the morning of our session to just not show up. Mini sessions only work because of the number of sessions we can do per day. Last minute cancellations and no-shows spoil the whole day!

Q: Are mini sessions fun? A: YES! Fun, quick, easy, always awesome. Even Dad will agree.

Q: Why would I buy the entire gallery up front? A: More than half of my mini session clients buy their entire galleries every year. If this is you (helloooooo, you!), or you think you're not the type who can walk away from gorgeous photos of your family (I'm not!), this is for you.

Q: Will you tell me exactly where to go? What to do? What to wear? A: Absolutely! As soon as locations are decided for this year you will receive an email with the updated information. Then in the week before our session you'll receive an email with all of the session information and some tips and tricks for better photos. If you need outfit advice just ask!

Q: Why are these fall mini sessions so early? A: I do my minis early in the season to ensure your photos are turned around and ready to go for your holiday cards and to give you ample time to order holiday photo gifts. My printers have fairly early deadlines.

Q: I want to buy prints after our session. Can I do that through you? A: Yes! Prints, wall art, gifts, albums - I sell it all!

Q: Tell me about holiday cards. Can I order these through you? A: You can! All clients will have access to their photos through Minted.com, including a special discount code for all Cat and the Fiddle Photography customers. Look for an email with information about how to access your photos about a week after your final gallery is delivered.
