"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."

Q. How do I prepare for a newborn session? What do I bring with me, for the baby or for me?
A. I've been a new mom recently enough that it is of utmost importance to me to make this entire process as easy and comfortable as possible for you. For your session you need to bring your baby and yourself, and that's it. Dad and siblings are welcome if they want to come - the studio is designed for comfort! We have everything a new mom or family could want - from comfortable places to sit, to a fully stocked changing table, to an entertainment center for big siblings. No detail has been left uncovered. These photographs are about capturing your baby just as s/he is, which is perfect all on it's own. There is nothing you need to do to prepare, and nothing additional to worry about. All you have to do is come and relax. If you have any special blankets, toys, heirlooms, or anything else that you'd like to incorporate into our shoot, you should bring that.
Q. How do I see my photos afterward? How many photos should I expect in my gallery? How do I get my photos from you after?
A. Your photos will be ready about two weeks after our session, and we will have a private viewing session to review them. Your professionally edited gallery will have approximately 50 images, but often it will be more than that. I curate your photos for the moments that matter, and my team of editors makes sure every detail is perfect. Your gallery will take your breath away. At our viewing session we will discuss which of the finished photos you would like to purchase, the ways and places you would like to show them off, and select the perfect artisan products to display in your home. You will have the opportunity to view all the products I offer, from prints, to framed prints, to canvases to albums.
Q. What is a session with you like? What can I expect?
A. A session with me is fun! My approach is very relaxed. I want our time together to be comfortable, easygoing, and a chance for you to make some memories of and with your baby. My goal is to make you, your baby, and your family feel like old friends. You can get a behind the scenes view of a session with me in my experience video [coming soon!].
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Q. What is the cost of a newborn session?
A. Although every client and order is different, clients typically spent between $800-$2500 on their custom photography. Detailed pricing is available upon request.
You should know that choosing to invest in preserving these memories of your newborn baby is a priceless act - you will cherish these images forever.
Q. When should I contact you or book my newborn session?
A. Newborn sessions can't be booked too early! You guarantee availability around your due date by booking early. But, last minute and later requests can almost always be accommodated. Newborns are best photographed in the first two weeks of life, but years of experience have shown that I can capture priceless moments at any age.
Q. What is the process to book a newborn session? What happens after I book, before my session?
A. Once you fill out the contact form to let us know you are interested, indicate your due date, and pay your session fee, your session is officially booked. We'll spend time before your session discussing your goals, the types of shots you are looking for, talk about how you want to use and display your photographs. When your sweet baby arrives you will give me a shout, and we will finalize your date.
Q. How long will my session take?
A. A typical newborn session lasts between 1-2 hours. We take breaks for eating as the baby requests and always follow baby's lead.
